Craigieburn Sporting Club Complex - Upgrade and Extension

Craigieburn Sporting Club represents the largest single project delivered by Loaram as at June 2019. It entailed a 4 stage program delivering a new 800 seat function centre, 2 new commercial kitchens, 3 new bars, supporting new bathrooms and facilities, children’s play area and new administration hub.

The finishing touches externally feature a sandstone free standing portico incorporating dedicated facility entries and new corporate branding retaining the sandstone theme.

Critically, all works had to be delivered whilst maintaining the club’s day-to-day operations – 7 days a week.

This included a complete new HVAC system, new Main Switchboard and Distribution Boards throughout, new electrical, fire and gas mains, new FIP and detection throughout and a $75,000 MTU Detroit emergency generation system. With critical key works undertaken solely between midnight and 6 AM, it is testament to the Loaram delivery team lead by Vlad Dzajkic that CSC did not lose a single trading day across the entire project.

The transformation is staggeringly effective, internally and externally. A cornerstone of this result is the $1,000,000 investment into a comprehensive joinery concept & package that provides a seamless integration throughout the entire complex.

Just as seamless was the interface between the CSC appointed Project Manager Matthew Pearce from MPPM, the client management team lead by Samantha Burton and the Loaram delivery team under the direction of Construction Director Vlad Dzajkic.

The client remained “hands-on” across the full project, eager to engage at every stage and motivated to improve the design and associated built-form whenever the opportunity presented itself.

The project benefited enormously from this micro input, only realisable with the dedication of the long standing Loaram contractor base and their capacity to accommodate the demands of an operating facility.

This facilitated the ability to extend the scope of works to include the development and implementation of a new external branding package and the procurement and incorporation of feature façade blades.
